During pregnancy a healthy diet is very essential for a healthy pregnancy. It’s important to know what to eat and what to avoid during pregnancy. As certain foods are good for the mother and the baby and certain foods are bad. Here are the fruits to avoid during pregnancy

Papaya
Papaya is to be avoided during pregnancy. The unripe and semi ripe papaya are rich in latex which tends to trigger uterine contractions, leading to early labour. So avoid during the third trimester to have a normal delivery without any complications.

Pineapple
Pineapples are to be avoided during pregnancy. As pineapples are rich in bromelain, they can cause the softening of the cervix, which may lead to early labor.

Grapes
Grapes contain the high amount of resveratrol-a chemical that can cause toxicity for the expectant mother. Grapes has heat content which affect the mother and the baby especially in the final trimester.

Jamun Fruit
There is a myth that eating jamun fruit during pregnancy causes spots on the baby. But none of them are clinically proven. So its better to limit jamun fruit during pregnancy.

Mangoes
Mangoes are nutrient rich but it is recommended to limit consuming mangoes during pregnancy. As mangoes contain high carbohydrate content which may raise the blood sugar levels.

Avoid Unwashed fruits
Avoid eating unwashed fruits to avoid infection and toxoplamosis. Hygiene and personal care is very important during pregnancy. Wash the fruits properly before consuming.
