Pregnancy is a beautiful phase in women?s life. Life of women is not complete until and unless she gets pregnant and gives birth. However, extra care needs to be taken by women during pregnancy. Read on to find basic pregnancy care tips for healthy pregnancy.

  1. Start changing your food habits to include a healthy variety of foods.
  2. Pregnant ladies should eat a diet that is high in Iron and calcium, not only is this essential to maintaining your health but is necessary for the babies growth and development. In addition you will need to eat proteins, plenty of red and yellow vegetables and drink plenty of water. Avoiding fried food and those high in fats will not only help you to feel healthier but may help in cases of morning sickness.
  3. Exercise regularly. Exercise gives special benefits to pregnant women as it can lessen fatigue and discomfort.
  4. Do not intake cigarettes, alcohol during pregnancy which may be dangerous for you and baby.
  5. Pregnancy is a stressful time for many women so relax by meditation, listening music, yoga etc.
  6. To avoid Pregnancy problems of constipation and hemorrhoids intake more fiber and water. Increase fiber intake by eating plenty of fruit and vegetables.
  7. Avoid wearing under-wired bras, as they might hamper the functioning of the milk glands. Similarly, wearing a very tight bra, may press down the nipple and block the milk ducts.
  8. If you are at home and not working anytime during your pregnancy, you should try and get plenty of sleep but that doesn?t mean you need to continue doing that the whole time. You can sit around, read useful books and use the computer for some devotional movies and some good documentaries as well.
  9. Tension during pregnancy makes you forget your good intentions. Relaxation exercises could help a lot. Sit with eyes closed. Relax your feet muscles, legs, neck and face. Inhale slowly and deeply through your nose, push your abdomen out, count to four, relax shoulder and neck muscles, exhale slowly and count to six. Repeat this 4-5 times until you are completely relaxed.
  10. If you are above 35 years old and wish to have a child, you should consult your doctor. At this stage of life, the risks for both mother and child are increased, so medical supervision is necessary.
  11. During pregnancy, your body is going through so many changes both physically and emotional that you will need to adjust your schedule and lifestyle to what suits you best during this time. You will be much happier and more agreeable to be around if you are well-rested and refreshed. Plus, you will be more productive when you do work.
